Katie Hochleutner

Faculty Member

Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Turns & Leaps

She’s back! Miss Katie is thrilled to return to the faculty of Dynamic Perception Dance Company. Katie Hochleutner started tap and ballet at the age of 3 in Elmhurst.  Her passion for dance throughout her life brought her to study the styles jazz, hip hop, modern, character, and Spanish dance.  Following her heart, she studied dance technique at Northern Illinois University.  At NIU she was in several main stage shows consisting of a variety of styles and technique from ballet to Broadway.  Her favorite show was performing a selection from the Broadway show, Anything Goes.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance Performance in 2013.  Miss Katie has had the privilege of working with world renowned choreographers Judith Chitwood, Paula Frasz, Autumn Eckman, Morgan Fogarty and Luis Montero.  After NIU, she has continued her technique in the city at Joel Hall Dance Center and the Joffrey Ballet.  She has taught dance throughout high school and college at the Elmhurst Park District creating new curriculum for tap and jazz classes. Since graduating, Miss Katie found a home away from home at DPDC. After finishing her first year in her Master’s Program at Columbia College Chicago for Dance/Movement Therapy, her heart told her to return to the studio and continue her work as a dance instructor.  Miss Katie hopes to bring back her contemporary tap style to the students at DPDC. Here’s to an exciting and wonderful year ahead!
